Posted: 07 Mar 2008 12:33 PM CST

Three companies – Renault, Sita and Indra – are looking to pool their respective expertise and resources. The joint venture's development is expected to lead to a largely self-financed investment of €100 million over a period of five years. Renault and Sita France (a subsidiary of Suez Environnement) have announced a project to form an equally-owned joint venture aimed at speeding up the development of end of life vehicle (ELV) treatment in France. To assist its development, this joint venture would take control of Indra Investissement SAS, a company which has been active in the dismantling of vehicles for more than 20 years and which has been behind some of the industry's most innovative solutions. Their target is recovery of 95 per cent of all vehicles by 2015.

A spokesman for CCIC, which is accredited by the State General Administration of the People's Republic of China for Quality Supervision and Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ), told that "any used bags and films from the household" cannot now be exported to China. The move is expected to boost the supply of material to Uk reprocessors and elsewhere overseas. And, the Environment Agency is expected to take note of the new rules and continue its tough inspection policy on overseas exports of recyclables, seeking to provide any abuse of transfrontier shipment legislation
